Your thoughts and emails can help!

I can't solve this mystery on my own. My only hope is that those who have read the Blessing manuscripts might offer some help.

If you have any questions or explanations for any of the incredible events in the book, please email me at the following address. KWHarris@InTheTimeOfWorms.com.

I will post the most intriguing submissions below along with my responses.

1. From Randall, Hamilton, MA:
"I've heard of these "sightings" in Marblehead several times over the last 15 years or so. I thought it was just some prank by the locals. Why would you think it's anything more than that?"
-- Well, Randall, that was my first thought, too. But there are stories like this going back over 300 years! Are you telling me some secret group of pranksters has been passing this stuff down through 15 generations or so? I don't buy it. --KWH

2. From Nan, Marblehead, MA:
"I couldn't put down your book and I hope there will be a sequel! I only have one question, is the Max Blessing mystery a hoax? I would love to help with the research but don't want to waste my time if he does not truly exist. But bravo to you on such a fine tale of dear old Marblehead!"
-- Thank you so much for your kind words about the book. I'm delighted that you enjoyed it. There will be a sequel. A second Blessing manuscript has been found -- in Salem this time and delivered into my care. I have begun to explore it and it is clear that his story continues. I shall detail it on this web site once I have a clearer idea of the content. Personally, I believe that mystery is a spice that makes life so much more delicious and I try to open my mind to creative possibilities whenever possible. But each person has to decide for themselves to what degree they can suspend belief in one reality or another. --KWH

3. From Robert, Denver, CO:
"I know it sounds crazy, but I think time-travel is possible. The universe is not linear. It seems like every day, models for the physical universe are being challenged by new discoveries that couldn't even be imagined just a few short years ago. Are the boundaries of time any better understood than those of space? I don't think so."
-- All I can say is I never thought time travel was anything more than science fiction. Blessing's work really shook up my view of the world. If you come across any scientific journals that comment on this, please send me the reference... --KWH

4. From Millie, Ipswich, MA:
"I thought the book was GREAT!"
-- Thanks, Mom.

5. From Don, Boston, MA:
"You've owned the house for 20 years or something like that. So, IS there a passage in that closet or not? That shouldn't be too hard to figure out."
-- Obvious question. First place I looked, naturally. All I can say is, if there was a passage, it's not there now. It's clear some extensive brick work was done on the chimney stack before we bought the house. There is no way for me to know what was there before. Complicating it, I have no idea when the manuscript was placed in the attic. I found it 6 years ago, but it could have been there since before I bought the house. All I know is nothing new has turned up. Does that mean all entries have been sealed? I wish I knew. --KWH

6. From Paul Wilson
"I listened to the recording from inside the old fort, it sounds like "Be Gone" What do you think? Your book sounds interesting!"
-- Your interpretation could be right. What is more strange is that it's the only sound resembling a voice in two hours of recordings! Who was he talking to? And even more inexplicable, what was someone doing down there in the middle of the night? --KWH
